Joanna joined ThermalWise in early 2019. She began in an administrative role and continues to work as a part of the administrative team.  Prior to joining ThermalWise Joanna began teaching part time at NSCAD University in 2009, where her focus is teaching ways of dyeing fabric and yarns using natural materials in sustainable ways.  

Her experience as an administrator comes from 18 years as a self employed artist and teacher along with managing the Klondike Sun Newspaper while living and working in Dawson City, Yukon in 2007-2008.   Joanna completed an undergraduate degree at NSCAD University in 2004 and a MA in Textiles and Fibre Arts at the Winchester School of Art in 2006.  

Joanna enjoys gardening, making art work and is an avid birder.
