Garth Hood
Registered Energy Advisor
Garth Hood began his renewable energy career in 2008 as Renewable Energy Coordinator at the Falls Brook Centre. He became a certified energy advisor in 2009. In 2010 Garth's pursuit of best practices led him to the International Passive House Standard, becoming one of the first Canadian certified Passive House Consultants in 2013. Garth is committed to demonstrating, to both builders and homeowners, how investment in an energy efficient home has value beyond basic construction costs.
Garth was the designer and energy consultant for the Naugler House in Fredericton – New Brunswick's first Passive House, built in 2011, that can be heated for less than $100 per year. Garth continues to build the appetite for Passive House in Maritime Canada and now has more than 20 projects, either built or in the works. He lives in a century farmhouse recently retrofitted to Passive House standards.
