Home Eligibility Requirements
The home must meet the following eligibility criteria to participate in the Home Energy Assessment program:
Is located in Nova Scotia
Is at least 6 months old from the date on the occupancy permit
Is at least one of the following categories:
Single-family homes
Semi-detached homes (i.e. side by side duplexes)
Side-by-side row homes (i.e. townhouses)
Year-round cottages
Mobile homes on a permanent foundation
Homes with a secondary unit
Multi-Unit Residential Buildings, 6 units or less (Homes with more than 2 units are currently not eligible for heat pump funding through the federal Greener Homes Initiative)
Has all interior and exterior finishes in place (including, for example, siding and drywall) and has a functioning automated heating system.
Additionally, to qualify for the Greener Homes grant program, the home must be your primary residence.
